On Blaspheming The Divine

Blaspheming the Divine? Is it possible to blaspheme that which is unknowable?

The Abbot Speaks on Blaspheming the unknowable

Si Vales, Valeo

Blaspheming? My favorite activity! I’ll tell why. Often times to blaspheme something is to give it reverence.

You cannot blaspheme the Divine because it is unknowable. All one can do is blaspheme the IDEA of The Divine. The very act of defining something Divine is to blaspheme because in doing so we restrict its Omnipresence and Omniscience to some sort of vulgar understanding our little minds can grasp through the use of symbols. In other words, the Divine is unknowable and beyond criticism. In addition, any religion claiming to possess the Truth (Trademark, All Rights Reserved) cannot be trusted to know what they are talking about. All they can do is to light the lamp of understanding and show you the way to something each individual must discover for themselves.

Make sense?

Pax,
